Barbecue Beans
Slow baked spicy barbecue beans are tangy-sweet with molasses, honey and bacon.

Ingredients

  • 4 cans pork and beans
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup cocktail sauce
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 4 slices bacon, finely diced

Directions

Dump the pork & beans into a 3 quart or larger cassarole or crock. Stir in the onion, ketchup, cocktail sauce, honey, and molasses. Sprinkle diced bacon over top and bake in a 325-degree oven for 90 minutes. Do not stir the bacon into the beans. The bacon fat will render better if exposed directly to heat. Once cooked however, you may stir what's left of the bacon into the beans.
