Recipe by Paul Mayville You'll see these things called jalapeno poppers, which they are not. You'll also see them cooked in the oven and the bacon wrapped over the open end of the jalapeno instead of around the middle. Whatever you call them, or however you wrap them, they still have plenty of flavor and lots of fire. If you're a total "wuss" when it comes to spicy food, don't bother even trying these things. Ingredients
Directions Slit peppers on one side lengthwise and scrape out seeds and veins. Stuff each pepper with cream cheese Cut bacon strips in half and wrap each pepper with half of bacon strip securing each with a toothpick. Grill, bake, or smoke until bacon is crisp. Serves 4 |
