Honey-Rum Plums and Ice Cream
Plums sautéed in a honey sauce over vanilla ice cream. Dramatically served with ignited rum.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey
  • 8 medium plums, whole, quartered
  • 1/2 cup dark rum
  • 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream

Directions

Cover bottom of a sauté pan with honey. Place over low heat to warm the honey. Add plums, cut side down and cook for 5 minutes or until cut sides are slightly browned. Turn plums and cook for 3 minutes or until fruit is soft but not mushy.

Spoon ice cream into individual bowls or cups and cover with plums and sauce. Splash rum over plums and ice cream and ignite with butane lighter and serve. Flames will be small and go out quickly.
